A Message to Joan Jett

Hey Joan, I wanted to let you know that I WAS there yesterday. I did see you play at the Dekalb Cornfest, but I was kind of in the back, so you probably didn't see me. You can't have seen me, because otherwise you would have come out after the show and demanded that I be your new best friend.

But I was there. Swear it.

And you rock.

On to other matters, my new volunteer year has begun, and I'll be doing basically the same as last year. But I probably won't be doing CCP lab unless they find someone soon who wants to do it. I will be getting trained for ESL and Adult Literacy soon, and may be able to do some stuff with that. We'll see how it goes. Otherwise, it will all be more of the same. Another good year, surely.

We've gotten new volunteers. So now I live with Michael and Daena, and the newbies are Helen, Janet, Suji, and Michelle. It's possible though, that Chicago will get two new volunteers in the coming month or so, and then the community will split into two houses. I'll keep you posted on that.

For now-- some fun updates.

My art and theatre classes are itching to begin again. I got to go play paintball with the Youth Council. I've written some really cool new songs and I'm playing tonight at an open mike at the Tonic Room. I got my eyebrow pierced last night. I might be starting a band with Suji, and with Josh who was a volunteer in Atlanta last year. And I saw Joan Jett in concert yesterday.

Did I mention that I saw Joan Jett in concert yesterday?

Had to brag.
